Bonus Monday score
Suns 119, Blazers 121 — I somehow forgot to include the Blazers-Suns overtime score from Monday in Tuesday’s newsletter. Devin Booker set the all-time Suns scoring record … but Deandre Ayton had a 25-20 still-feelin’-like-revenge game.

Back to Tuesday scores
Mavericks 116, Sixers 118 — Joel Embiid got back into action, had a triple-double, scored to go-ahead bucket and got the game-sealing steal. (The Sixers did lose his minutes overall, for what it’s worth.) Hmm.
The Sixers just trapped Kyrie Irving on those final possessions, and the Mavericks didn’t have another good option. Anthony Davis will help that when he’s healthy, but having such a perimeter drop-off between Kyrie and the other Mavericks in terms of playmaking is going to hurt. Unless, of course, they trade for Kevin Durant?!
