I think the difference in Jimmy’s foul drawing is that it’s the old school, on the block or elbow, physical foul whereas the guys that draw the ire of fans are baiting the swipe so they can rise up from three, flail and prat fall.

Yea jimmy is just a bully in the best sense of the word.

I think the thing about Embiid that stands out most as someone who watches a LOT of Sixers games is that the midrange shooting is unbelievable. He's basically Michael Jordan there.

A huge key to the foul drawing is that people are genuinely freaked out about his 15 foot jump shots.

"Erase every free throw of this season, count threes as twos and Joel Embiid is still your NBA scoring leader."

The problem with this analysis is that the field goals are affected by the free throws. When Embiid is foul-baiting early and getting soft whistles, good defenders are forced to play differently (or not at all, if put into foul trouble). So subtracting the free throw points isn't an accurate assessment of how much he might score without the foul-baiting changing the entire context of the game.

What value would the Wizards place on the Knicks handing back the protected 1R pick? It'd give them the ability to get better more quickly. I understand they wouldn't place *much* value on it, but I'm wondering if they'd place *any* value on it.

Leonard, who looks as much like an MVP candidate as anyone in the league, had to sully that exquisite series of moves to the hoop by initiating contact to draw a cheap foul on the next possession because he was winded.

Nothing in this world will be permitted to be pure.

Aside from Butler, not all the other players high on the foul shot list (like Embiid and DeRozan) shoot many threes either. Fans just like to complain when their team loses about "grifting" of opposing players or "cheating" of referees. It's just sour grapes.

Meant that to be a reply to Aaron.

The two I was specifically thinking of are Harden and Trae (and they get a lot of calls with that put in the brakes/stick out your butt move).

And who was this reply for?
