The greatest Celtics duo ever
It's not who you think! Unless you watched Blazers-Celtics, I guess.
Good morning.
The Jack Pine; Tom Thomson; 1916-17
Let’s basketball.
Scores
Jazz 122, Wizards 125 — One thing lottery reform has done in the NBA is make these types of tank-off games less relevant. Both the Jazz and Wizards will be bottom three teams, and there’s no huge advantage to being the worst vs. being the second worst.
Heat 107, Cavaliers 112 — Salute to the Heat for putting plenty of pressure on the best team in the league. Alas. This was an incredibly sloppy final two minutes. Duncan Robinson actually hit a tying three with a dozen or so seconds left but had stepped out of bounds first.
It feels like Kevin Love left the Cavaliers a decade ago but he got his flowers in The Land during this game.
Blazers 118, Celtics 128 — Jayson Tatum joined Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday in street clothes … so Payton Pritchard and Derrick White each went for 40.
First Celtics duo to each score 40 in a game. Not Havlicek and Cowens. Not Bird and McHale. Not Pierce and Walker, or Pierce and Garnett, or Pierce and Allen. Not Irving and Tatum. Not Tatum and Brown. Not Tatum and Porzingis. WHITE AND PRITCHARD.
