After Kyrie ops in this summer, Nico should trade he and AD. Then the Mavs can fire/blame him and start the rebuild. He’d could go down as the NBA Thanos, a capricious and self-righteous exec that changed the league landscape with the snap of his fingers.
An aside: I'm in Chicago, and often times this newsletter lets me know the Bulls played the night before. Since they're off cable TV (mostly, it's a complicated arrangement) and they're below .500, no bars or restaurants show their games.
I was at a Chicago bar last night that had Bulls memorabilia all over the walls, but all 8 TVs there were showing other games.
Nico also shot himself in the foot and set the team up for injuries and failure when he fired competent, well respected and award winning medical and performance personnel including Casey Smith in 2023 and Jermey Holsopple in 2024 after the finals run. Has anyone looked into the experience and qualifications of their replacements? The injury rates are unprecedented and I question the strength and conditioning preparedness that would make the players less prone to injury. Freak injuries happen but this season has been awful. Nico’s player trades are abysmal but his personnel decisions are equally as abysmal. Speaking of which, his PR replacement for Scott Tomlin has also put him in a lurch.
Nothing about what she posted indicates she was wagering on his stats vs just betting on the Magic. She should probably not post this stuff! But doesn't really seem like a big deal to me.
That trade aged like fish in the trash can. Add in the PR disaster the Mavs have been.... this is the worst trade I've ever seen. Gonna be a rough decade...

At least the Mavs fans can enjoy the assets Nico got from the Knicks for Brunson!
Also, how many Raptors fans are in Orlando? The cheers seemed quite loud after that shot.
I think it is important to not forget that Nico was loud wrong on Brunson.
Why are you doing this? 😭

Any thoughts on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's wife apparently wagering on her husband's stats? https://fadeawayworld.net/nba/orlando-magic/kentavious-caldwell-popes-wife-apparently-warned-husband-during-magic-game
seems bad! Even if it turns out to be nothing the NBA is obviously playing with fire now that it's in bed with the gambling companies.

How is tanking different from point shaving? Asking for a friend.
Maybe KD is just not built to stay in one place. Some dudes are seekers, rolling stones, nomads. Just as some teams are always churning rosters.
Zion may be the most maddening player to watch. The highs and lows are just so extreme!
